Can I use my iPad to "go back to my Mac" and AirPort Extreme hard drive?

I'll be traveling internationally and need only my iPad because of weight restrictions. I'll need to go back to my Mac and screen share as well as access my hard drive on my AirPort Extreme. Can I set that up? Is that possible? Can I access the two platforms remote on iCloud.com? Can I access it from a remote computer That isn't a Mac or doesn't have back to my Mac set up? Is it better to set up a server OSX Server? I'm not super savvy with the higher end needs of the server and would really love back to my Mac to function.

I have a late 2011 model MacBook Pro, 2015 AirPort Extreme 3T, 32gb iPad mini 2G - all are updated to newest OS/iOS as of 9/14/2016
